21 novembre This is a long time coming.... X'mas wishlist! It's inevitable that I'll post my Christmas wishlist in my blog. Lately, many cool stuff came out in the market, lots of nice offers from memberships to boot. And here I am making a wishlist I'd like to have this Christmas
1.) Gym Membership near my house. I'd want to get some formal gym training this time around, instead of the informal one I get from the office.
2.) Microsoft Zune, heck it's not the end all solution to the IPod. But who knows? It might just get there.
3.) PS2, yep, I'm going retro this time, no PS3s for me. I like the games on PS2 much better.
4.) Nintendo Wii, nuff what the reviewers say. It's hip, it's stylish, and it requires you to move too!
5.) New TV rack and bookshelves, for my growing collection of books and FHM
6.) My destined one? 13 novembre Vista... at last!! (RC1 though)Here I am, blogging on my just recently installed Windows Vista RC1 on my family's PC. First of all, it did what we are told, installed quickly. Though at first there was this lag time when I popped in the DVD (burned) on the computer's DVD drive, but the actual installation went really fast. I just lied around for around 10 minutes and going back to the computer, the main installation's already done.
Right now, I'm finishing up my installation of the bare applications of the OS and the important drivers like video and printer, and some codecs.
Though my slight apprehension was that with 1.0GB of RAM, it seems to eat up much resource.
The system specs:
Seighart (2 years old)
AMD Athlon 2700XP+
EPOX K7/9AI motherboard
1.0GB DDR SDRAM 3200
120GB IDE HDD
built-in sound AC '97
Radeon 9550 AGP 8x video
Asus DVD-RW drive
Samsung DVD drive
DUKE mesh type compact ATX case with HEC 480W power supply
and did I mention it can run AERO?
Wow, I'm actually raving as I type this, while installing the CCCP audio/video codecs, the application detected that the system wasn't XP or 2003 version of Windows. BUT what Vista did was that it informed me that it will CONFORM to the wants of the installer, and now I'm installing it, hassle free!
Hmm, I must try installing FFVII here, it might just work! 11 novembre Five year room development planSince I'm in no hurry to move out of my house, I'm jumpstarting my 5 year Room Development Plan (LOL, this kinda reminds me of those 10 year development plans made when I was studying in school).
First I need a nice set of furniture. Like what I've posted before, my TV rack's old and it doesn't fit my room, ditto to my book cabinet, the color makes me look old. and then my work bench (where my PC and supposed study area) needs a re-application of varnish/ fixes on my keyboard mount. And maybe some additional dusting. I saw in EDIA (Easy do it assembly) a wider, lower TV rack, perfect for putting my TV in, and then just getting myself a bean bag for me to play on. And the TV rack is future proof, and that is when I buy an LCD TV. Another piece of Furniture would be a bigger, sturdier book rack to place in my collection of Books and Comics and Magazines. I might be needing a replacement light for my room, since I'm not too friendly with flourescent lights now.
Next, I'll get myself that replacement PS2 for me to play on. As for my old PS2 and other stuff, I'm thinking of making an old legacy corner for "older" technologies.
Then of course is my hobby of building model kits. Right now, I'm reading this particular website on building Gundam Kits http://www.fichtenfoo.com/02GiantRobots/02c-MGHowTo.html, the author's a god in doing this, and am grateful he actually made one. And with it, I officially start my plan (note, this does not also bug my plan to save up on a laptop and car) |
